Sunning Tips

It's no secret. It's the undisputed truth. Sun exposure is public enemy #1. Whether you're a man or woman, nothing ages your skin faster. If you want to look good into your 30s, 40s, on up, the best thing to do is get serious and limit your sun exposure. And remember, it's never too late to begin minimizing sun damage!

  • Use foundation with a SPF of at least 15.
  • Avoid the sunlight between 10am and 3pm when the suns rays are the strongest.
  • Use sunscreen with SPF of at least 15 in Summer and Winter!
  • Sunscreen is no guarantee against skin damage or skin cancer but greatly reduces the risk.
  • Don't forget to apply sunscreen to your neck, upper chest and hands. These areas will age rapidly with frequent sun exposure.
  • Fake a tan with sunless tanning lotion and a couple dabs of rouge on your forehead, nose an cheeks.
  • Wear sunglasses with UV protection.
  • Wear a hat and gloves when mowing and gardening.
  • Seek shade whenever possible.
  • Inspect your entire body for any curious moles or lesions frequently and seek out your dermatologist if you notice anything suspicious.
  • To be on the safe side, inspect your skin at home and visit your dermatologist annually for a complete examination.
