Revlon Skinlights® - Product ReviewAlways willing to try something new, I couldn't resist when our local Walgreen's had a "buy one get one free" sale on some Revlon Skinlights® products. If not for the sale, I'm not sure I would have tried any of these -- but maybe it was only a matter of time, it caught my eye before that. I purchased two products, the Instant Skin Brightener and the Face Illuminator loose powder to see if I could add a special, youthful glow to my face this summer and be just a little different. Instant Skin BrightenerSince my face was already tan, I chose 03, warm light, which turned out to be a good color match. The tube is unique, with a pump that squeezes out the product. It works well but can be a little messy when it gets on outside of the tube. The scent is very appealing, which makes the product pleasant to apply. Best of all, it has a SPF 15 to help prevent future wrinkles. The Skin Brightener offers enough coverage to work as a foundation so I tried it that way the first time. I liked it, but it was a little too much glow for me. I think it's more of a preference, someone a little younger may appreciate the illumination more. Now I wear my regular foundation and add a thin layer of the skin brightener on top in areas that reflect the light. This seems to work better for me and does spruce up my tan, a good combination for me. I've also dabbed some on my shoulders to make them shimmery and even covered a scar on my leg with it because it blended in better with a tan than regular foundation or concealer does.
Face Illuminator Loose PowderFor a finishing touch, I chose 03, warm light loose powder, the same color code as the Skin Brightener. I was impressed with the container. The lid stores a white brush for application, but you can also store the brush over the powder if you keep the plastic insert. Despite the fact that I bought the same color code as the Skin Brightener, the Face Illuminator loose powder is much darker and makes a perfect bronzing powder. I added a dark shimmer to the areas I wanted it the most. It worked better than the other two bronzing pressed powders I already had. You can apply the powder to your bare skin for a more natural look, or use it over foundation. Again, it adds a nice touch to shoulders and can also be used as blush on a tan face. Overall, I like these two Revlon Skinlights® products. I may be going back to purchase lighter shades in the upcoming Fall and Winter months to see if I can add some zest to my dull skin for the holidays.
